If you’ve spent the last week on Social-Media, you might have noticed that a new basque cheesecake kiosk in Lisbon will open soon. Close to the Jardim da Estrela, this new place called DONA already had a successfull soft opening last Saturday. Many people came to the small kiosk at the Basilica and share the photos from this popular basque cheesecake.

Best place to eat basque cheesecake in Lisbon

Even if this place will officially open at the 29th of January, DONA is already hyped on social-media. No wonder when you see the photos of that perfect basque cheesecake served in a cute small kiosk in Lisbon. Behind this project is actually chef Hugo Candeias who developped the recipe for this popular dessert in 2020.

Toasted on the outside and surprisingly creamy on the inside, the basque cheesecake from Hugo Candeias won loyal customers in its first year. In 2022 the brand of DONA was finally born. Together with the Paradigma Creative & Hospitality Group, Hugo and his team finally build up this new place at the Estrela garden in Lisbon.

DONA might become the place to go this summer

After the 29th of January, this new perfect place to eat basque cheesecake in Lisbon will regularly be open from Wednesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 18:00h. During that time, visitors will be able to buy slices of basque cheesecake at the Jardim 5 de Outubro, Praça da Estrela. Especially with the summer season coming closer, DONA will attract many locals and tourists to try this basque cheesecake creation from Hugo Candeias.

Besides that, DONA also offers the opportunity to order a whole basque cheesecake pie online, so that customers can even enjoy it at home.
