If you’re in Lisbon and seeking a creative escape, you shouldn’t miss out the new ceramic studio Disco Wheel. This ceramic studio in Lisbon offers pottery workshops that are unlike typical workshops. While you create your own ceramic piece under the support of a professional instructor, you can enjoy refreshing kombuchas and a selection of natural wines.

A relaxing creative retreat in Lisbon

When you enter the studio in Cais do Sodré, you’ll notice the unique ambiance with its warm lighting and stylish décor. Especially the terracotta walls create an inviting space that feels at the same time modern and timeless.

But what makes the Disco Wheel experience even more special is the use of classical music to set the perfect mood. Therefore, the music at the pottery classes usually start with a slower pace and are gradually building up to a stronger rhythm towards the end of the classes. On weekends, the music becomes even livelier, so that you can experience a more festive vibe!

Kombuchas and Natural Wines

While you work with the clay and create your own piece on the potter’s wheel, unique refreshments will be served. That’s why, each session includes a selection of natural wines and kombuchas. Together with the carefully chosen music playlist it feels even less like a class and more like a mini retreat.

Pottery workshops at night in Lisbon

One of the great things is that the ceramic classes at Disco Wheel usually take place at night. These nighttime classes are perfect for those who are looking for a creative night out alone or with friends. Inside the studio, you’ll find in total eight potter’s wheels. Each of them is spotlighted with changing lights which makes the atmosphere even more relaxing.

The registration for a Disco Wheel ceramics session costs 60€ per person and covers the essentials: clay, a colourless glaze, and firing for 1-2 pieces. For an additional 10€, you can even experiment with coloured glazes. Each ceramic class has a duration of 90 minutes and is guided by a professional teacher and a ceramic assistant.

And for those who are looking for a private experience with family, friends, or colleagues, the Lisbon’s ceramic studio also offers the option to rent the entire space. You can find more information about the pottery workshops online on their website.

Disco Wheel: Ceramic store and upcoming location

Beyond the workshops, Disco Wheel also features a beautifully curated store with an exclusive selection of handcrafted ceramics. And as Disco Wheel is redefining the ceramic experience in Lisbon, they’ve announced plans to expand with a new location in London. This exciting development will bring their unique ceramics experience also to the UK, where Londoners will have the same Disco Wheel experience as in Lisbon.
