There’s a new matcha bar in Lisbon! Close to Lisbon’s metro station Rato, the new matcha bar Alba Bistro has opened its location. In collaboration with Michi Tea from Amsterdam, the new trendy hotspot in Lisbon serves four different types of matcha and is the first matcha bar in the capital of Portugal.

Matcha in Lisbon: 4 different types of matcha

At the end of October, it was finally time for the great opening. Alba Bistro is now the first matcha bar in Lisbon with a great variety of matcha teas on their menu. Therefore, guests can choose between the following types of matcha:

  • Ikigai: Classic and balanced in taste with notes of grass, earth and pine nuts
  • Hojicha: Roasted leaves with notes of caramel and nuts
  • Yutori: Soft taste with hints of edamame, seaweed and bamboo shoots
  • Haru: premium creamy matcha with a full body and sweet aftertaste, complemented by notes of jasmine, fresh greenery and umami.

On top, Alba Bistro offers a tasting set with three different types of matcha shots to try. It’s a great matcha experience that finally joins the city of Lisbon.

Speciality coffee and hot chocolate at Alba Bistro

Besides the great variety of matcha teas, the new matcha bar in Lisbon also offers speciality coffee, different types of hot chocolate and small plates to enjoy. That’s one of the reasons why Alba Bistro is not just a place for matcha lovers. Especially their selection of speciality hot chocolates is worth a try. In close partnership with the Spanish bean-to-bar chocolate maker Puchero, Alba Bistro offers 55% hot chocolate from Nicaragua, 70% Madagascar Sambirano and even a 100% hot chocolate from the Philipines.
