The city of Lisbon is a great choice when you want to take part in a ceramics or pottery class. One of the popular places to enjoy such a workshop experience is hall atelier in Campolide which we visited during our last stay in Lisbon. The creative space is not far from the district of Princípe Real and easily accessible by foot or public transportation.

Hall Atelier Lisbon: Photoshootings, workshops and more

The face behind this creative studio in Lisbon is Diana Marques who opened the space in 2020. With her ceramics and pottery workshops, Diana tries to bring visitors closer to the clay, no matter if they already have experience in ceramics or not. Besides that, the bright space in Campolide is also designed to serve brands as a photoshooting or filming location. It’s no wonder that hall Atelier worked with popular Portuguese brands such as Cinco or Fora which used her creative space for product photography.

However, the main reason why most people visit this creative space in Lisbon is the fact that hall Atelier offers unique ceramics and pottery workshops. In a 2-hour workshop, visitors learn a technique, create a piece and finally decorate it with textures and paint. Therefore, we decided to go for the 2-hour pottery class workshop on the wheel, where we created different pieces and painted them with our own colours of choice. Even regarding the material, you have three different types of clay to choose from at the beginning.

Ceramic and pottery workshops for everyone

Throughout the entire two hours, the team of hall Atelier takes great care of you in order that everyone enjoys this experience. Before the workshop started, our teacher even served us a freshly brewed cup of tea. Even if the work with the clay might be challenging at the beginning, the teacher always keeps an eye on your process and helps you if necessary. This ensures that every participant will finally create a unique piece which they can later bring home.

Ceramic pieces before glazing and firing

Just keep in mind that after painting your ceramic pieces, the team from hall Atelier will start the drying, glazing and firing process which might take a few weeks to finish. After this, visitors can finally pick up their own handmade pieces from the studio or let it ship to their home.
