Lisbon just welcomed a new creative space that’s already hyped in the local design and fashion scene. Surprisingly, the Kolab Concept Store was co-founded by Portuguese footballer Nuno Mendes! It has officially opened its doors at Praça dos Restauradores 12 in Lisbon, where it offers a unique retail experience.
From Sneaker Boutique to Concept Store: The Kolab Evolution
Kolab began back in May 2023 as a modest sneaker store on the top floor of Hotel Tivoli on Avenida da Liberdade. Founded by Francisco Tilli, Rafael Benzinho and Tiago Fonseca, it quickly developed a loyal urban clientele. With cult sneakers and international labels, Kolab earned a reputation for trend-focused streetwear.
Fast forward two years, and Kolab has transformed completely. Nuno Mendes who has a long-standing connection with the founders (having played with Francisco at Sporting) joined as a partner and brings his passion for fashion and daily involvement to the project. The old Tivoli shop has closed and the focus now centers entirely on the ambitious new location in Restauradores.

Today, Kolab is a hybrid space where fashion, design and art collide. Built across three floors, Ricardo Preto designed the new store like a cultural gallery with exclusive streetwear, home decor and even rare sneaker drops. Each level offers a new chapter in the Kolab story and takes visitors on a real journey.
But what truly sets Kolab apart is its unique mix of global sophistication and Lisbon’s urban vibes. The concept was born out of the vision to create more than just a store. No wonder that it’s already developping into a platform for creativity, community and cultural expression.

As one of the store’s co-founders, football star Nuno Mendes brings a fresh perspective to Lisbon’s fashion world. Besides that, he’s well known for his good style and infuses Kolab with a modern aesthetic that reflects a more dynamic Portugal. His influence is especially seen in the store’s sneaker and streetwear selections, which blend effortlessly with the artful layout and minimalist design of the space.
What’s even more exciting? Kolab is the first fashion store in Portugal that features brands like Beautiful Struggles, ENCRÉ, Jeanius Bar Atelier and many more. This allows Lisbon shoppers to get access to exclusive fashion not available anywhere else in the country. It’s a great new shopping destination in Portugal’s capital city.
