The Lisbon Fashion Week is back with its 63rd edition! This year’s edition is called “ModaLisboa Singular” and takes place from 10th to 13th October 2024. The focus of this upcoming Fashion Week in Lisbon is on individuality and the city’s role in fashion. Moreover, it highlights the innovation and disruption that defines Lisbon as well as the fashion industry. Therefore, you can expect a variety of events, including fashion shows, a pop-up store showcasing Portuguese designers and exhibitions which blend fashion with visual arts and technology.
SANGUE NOVO competition at the opening show of the Fashion Week
During the Fashion Week, 10 Portuguese designers are going to presents their new collections at the MUDE Design Museum. Here, the collections emphasize contemporary fashion themes such as sustainability, innovative materials and advanced manufacturing techniques. Besides that, the collections of the emerging designers challenge traditional gender roles and social norms through their bold, futuristic designs.
The 10 young designers who will compete in the SANGUE NOVO competition against each other are: Dri Martins, Duarte Jorge, Francisca Nabinho, Gabriel Silva Barros, Gonçalo Oliveira, Ihanny Luquessa, Inês Arthayett, Lolo, Toque Amargo and VOID.
At the end of the show, five finalists are going to be selected to compete for the awards at the next ModaLisboa event that will take place in March 2025.
Design pop-up store at Locke Santa Joana
To encourage the direct contact between the local fashion week designers and the audiences, ModaLisboa has opened a temporary design pop-up store at Locke Santa Joana. Here, you have the chance to buy Portuguese designers’ clothing and accessories. All pieces at the pop-up store are produced fairly and in a responsible way. The temporary pop-up store has opened from today and will stay open until the 13th of October.
Fashion week Lisbon 2024: A lot to discover
Everyone who want to discover the latest trends of Portuguese fashion, shouldn’t miss out this great event with four days of fashion shows and exhibitions! Many events, such as the “Workstation New Media” exposition and sustainability innovation programs, are free to attend. You can also enjoy conferences with national and international speakers where the role of technology in fashion is going to be discussed. Just be aware that you have to register for some events on the website of ModaLisboa.
